Destiny 2: How to Fix the Termite Error Code

The Destiny 2 beta is in full swing for players who pre-ordered the PS4 version of the game, due for release this September. Betas are synonymous with bugs and glitches, and Destiny 2 is no exception. The big one so far is Termite, an error code preventing players from logging in.

What is Destiny 2's Termite Error?

The Termite error occurs when players attempt to log in to the Destiny 2 beta. "Failed to download configuration files from Bungie servers, please try again," the code reads. There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason as to how, when, or why the Termite error code occurs. Bungie is aware of the issue and is actively working on a reliable fix.

How to Fix Destiny 2's Termite Error

Although no surefire solution exists as of this printing, Bungie has offered suggestions for what to do if or when it occurs. "If this is the first time you’ve received this error, please try that activity again and resume what you were doing before the error occurred. If you encounter the issue a second time, please exit Destiny and relaunch the game," per an official post on the developer's forums.

If that doesn't work, you'll need to delete the Destiny 2 beta and reinstall it.
