Injustice 2 developer NetherRealm has announced that Red Hood, one of the Bat-family’s more infamous vigilantes, will join the game next Tuesday, June 13. To play as Red Hood, you’ll need to own the Deluxe Edition of Injustice 2 or have purchased the Fighter Pack 1 DLC expansion. If you’re missing one or both of those essentials, you’ll be able to purchase Red Hood separately one week later.

Fighter Pack1 costs $20 and includes Starfire and Mortal Kombat’s Sub-Zero in addition to Red Hood. Fighters are being released piecemeal, though, and NetherRealm has yet to announce release dates for Sub-Zero or Starfire. Owning the Deluxe Edition of Injustice 2 entitles players to all three characters as they join the fray. If you went all-in and picked up the $100 Ultimate Edition, you’ll receive all nine planned DLC characters over the course of NetherRealm’s slow-but-steady expansions.

Injustice 2 garnered widespread acclaim from critics upon its release in May. Shacknews’ own Ozzie Mejia gave it a hearty recommendation and a 9/10 score. “Injustice 2 feels like a step up from Gods Among Us in every way imaginable,” he concluded in his review. “It's a far deeper experience, follows up wonderfully on the last game's story, and also gives reasons to keep coming back for repeat visits. The rich cast of fighters all have their own distinct styles, but they're all wrapped up in an easy-to-learn fighting system that's just plain fun to play. NetherRealm has a true grasp of what makes the DC Universe special and this game is as much of a love letter to that world as it gets.”
