Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe comes to Switch in February 2023

Kirby’s Return to Dream Land was a 2011 game on the Nintendo Wii that was a delightful, if not wholly traditional 2D-style platformer featuring everyone’s favorite pink puffball. However, it seems Nintendo is digging this one out of the toy box and polishing it up for the Switch in 2023. Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe was announced and it’s coming to the Nintendo Switch with a host of new features in February 2023.

Nintendo revealed Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe and its release date during the Nintendo Direct presentation on September 13, 2022. It will be releasing on the Nintendo Switch on February 24, 2023. Players will join Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight, and Bandana Waddle Dee as they travel to Planet Popstar to aid Magolor. You can also just play as four Kirbys if that’s to your liking.

Many of Kirby’s Return to Dream Land features will return in deluxe, including jump-in-jump-out co-op play. However, there will also be some new features in Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe. The new Mecha Copy ability is one such change, allowing players to dawn a jet pack and laser gun to bring high-tech pummeling to foes.

Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe is another fun-looking part of Kirby’s big anniversary year that began with the impeccable Kirby and the Forgotten Land and continued with the somewhat more lukewarm Kirby’s Dream Buffet. Stay tuned for February 2023 when this latest game launches, as well as new details as they become available.
