During the Xbox and Bethesda E3 2021 showcase, we got a look at Microsoft Flight Simulator on Xbox Series X. Along with this, we got the reveal that Top Gun: Maverick is getting a content expansion within Microsoft Flight Simulator. The expansion is set to hit the game in the fall of this year.
The Top Gun: Maverick content expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator was revealed alongside a new trailer at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase at E3 2021. We see an aircraft carrier in the middle of the ocean, housing several jets and military-grade planes. There’s then footage of jets soaring through the sky, followed by the tease of a 2021 release.
Top Gun: Maverick is the sequel to the iconic 80’s action film, and will once again star Tom Cruise in the lead role. The movie is set to hit theaters in July and is popping up in Microsoft Flight Simulator as a means of cross-promotion. Interestingly enough, the new vehicles being added will mark the first military aircraft featured in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The Microsoft Flight Simulator Top Gun: Maverick content expansion is expected to land in the fall of 2021.
