Rainbow Six Extraction will feature operators from Rainbow Six Siege

The Ubisoft Forward E3 2021 event started with a focus on the recently renamed Rainbow Six Extraction. One bit of news featured in the segment is the ability to play as operators from Rainbow Six Siege in the upcoming 3-player squad shooter. Rainbow Six Extraction is set to release on September 16th, 2021 for PC, PS4/PS5, and Xbox One/Series consoles with full cross-play.

The Tom Clancy video game empire continues to expand with another squad-based shooter that pits players against an adapting alien Archaeans. The artist formerly known as Rainbow Six Quarantine underwent a needed name change after instant critical feedback following its announcement. Rainbow Six Extraction was a large part of the Ubisoft Forward showcase as we kick off the first day of E3 2021.

As the newest game to bear the Tom Clancy name, Rainbow Six Extraction features 18 Rainbow Six operators to assemble elite three-person squads as they explore 12 unique maps and tackle procedurally generated challenges. A progression system is naturally in place for operators to improve their bespoke weapons and abilities. It looks like cooperation and tactics will be key in taking on the 10 different alien archetypes.

Today at the Ubisoft Forward E3 2021 showcase, it was announced that operators from Rainbow Six Siege will be appearing in Rainbow Six Extraction. Nomad and Hibana were shown in trailers but it wasn't said how many familiar faces we'll see from Rainbow Six Siege. Given Rainbow Six Extraction's adaptation of the Siege multiplayer mission format into a PvE-focused affair, it seems only fitting that some operators would be returning to lend their weapon and ability loadouts.
