Sony unveils PS4 Tournaments: Challenger Series

Competitive gaming is at its all-time peak in popularity right now and shows no signs of slowing. The world’s most popular esports leagues are getting national television coverage and millions of folks watch the best of the best on platforms like Twitch every day. Sony wants to bring the excitement of such competition to regular folks like you and me with their new PS4 Tournaments: Challenger Series.

The Challenger Series will allow any old schmuck with a PS4 to compete across a variety of games for chances at prizes such as exclusive console themes, in-game currency, and cash money. Kicking off August 6, the initial event will be the Mortal Kombat 11 PS4 Tournaments: Challenger Series. Other events featuring FIFA 20, Battlefield V, Warface and other AAA titles are scheduled to be announced throughout the end of the year.

Mortal Kombat 11 will be the first game featured in the PS4 Tournaments: Challenger Series.
