Call of Duty is a perennial phenomenon for a reason and it's mainly because of its multiplayer component. Infinity Ward was the developer that helped Call of Duty multiplayer reach new heights with the original Modern Warfare a decade ago. Now they're back with an all-new Modern Warfare and today's the day that they show off the game's multiplayer for the first time. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Multiplayer Premiere live stream will begin Thursday, August 1 at 12PM ET/9AM PT on Twitch. Activision and Infinity Ward didn't reveal any multiplayer details at E3 2019, instead opting to take this day to itself. Early in July, Activision unveiled the first details about Gunfight, a 2v2 close quarters multiplayer mode. Today promises to up the scale significantly, revealing multiplayer modes for much larger parties.
Shacknews recently had an opportunity to get a first look at Modern Warfare's multiplayer. Our thoughts on that will be available later today. In the meantime, expect to hear about the various modes that will be available, along with traditional Call of Duty elements like Create-A-Class, Perks, and more.
Today, Activision will be inviting many of the very best streamers and competitive players to jump into Modern Warfare multiplayer.
