Huge news coming out of E3 2019: the release date for Final Fantasy 7 Remake has been revealed by Nobuo Uematsu at the Dolby Theatre during the Final Fantasy VII - A Symphonic Reunion concert. The Final Fantasy 7 Remake will release on March 3, 2020.

There's no way that game fans haven't heard of Final Fantasy 7, arguably one of the biggest JRPG releases of all time. Series followers have been clamoring for a remake for decades, and Square Enix heard the call years ago. Unfortunately, the game has seen precious little reveals until just recently, when Square Enix showcased more footage of the remake during PlayStation's State of Play live stream. After the trailer, Square Enix promised that more details would be coming in June. Indeed, the State of Play video (featured below) opens with the text "the return draws closer."

Gamers have been chomping at the bit for any new shred of information concerning the new release, and finally getting a full-on release date for Final Fantasy 7 Remake is quite the pleasant surprise. For longtime JRPG fans or die-hard followers of Square Enix's most popular series, March 3, 2020 can't come soon enough.
