E3 2019: Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind DLC set for winter release

Though E3 2019 is not officially set to begin for another few days, news is already coming in regarding announcements for games and new content for existing titles. Late Saturday night, Square Enix had something for attendees of the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra show in Los Angeles. It was the first official trailer of the Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC called Re:Mind.

First announced during the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra's Tokyo tour stop, the Re:Mind DLC trailer takes players back to the latter moments of the main Kingdom Hearts campaign, where Sora, Riku, Aqua, and the other Keyblade wielders of Light found themselves battling the forces of darkness in the Keyblade Graveyard. This segues into Luxord asking a critical question, "Xigbar, who are you?"

This appears to be the central premise of the Re:Mind DLC. What does this mean to the average Kingdom Hearts player? Well, to go into this would mean diving into some spoiler-heavy territory, not just for the Kingdom Hearts 3 story ending, but also for the hidden ending. The only thing that can really be said without going into spoilers is that Xigbar is not who he seems to be and it looks like his colleagues in Organization XIII are catching on to this. What role Sora and the other Keyblade wielders play in all of this remains to be seen, but those who played the game all the way through know that there are indeed a few loose ends in the overall story that still need to be tied up.

There are more details about Re:Mind forthcoming and it's fair to assume that Square Enix will go more into detail about this during its E3 press conference on Monday night. In the meantime, there is a release window for this. Look for Kingdom Hearts 3's Re:Mind DLC to hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime this winter.
