Sea of Thieves is undergoing a transformation as the Anniversary Update sweeps over the world. A big event like this requires the game to go down for maintenance, and now we all want to know when Sea of Thieves will be back up. The start time of the Anniversary Update is really soon, so set your alarms!
Sea of Thieves is scheduled to be offline on April 30 at 5AM ET / 2AM PT until 11AM ET / 8AM PT. This means the servers will be down for maintenance for 6 hours while the team at Rare pushes the Anniversary Update live. At 11AM ET / 8AM PT, you should be able to log in and get to playing everything the Anniversary Update has to offer.
The official Sea of Thieves Twitter account tweets out any pertinent updates. If there is a problem with the implementation of the update to the game, expect the account to mention it immediately. The Anniversary Update is the largest content update to hit Sea of Thieves, so there could be a couple of hiccups along the way.
Make sure you know how to update Sea of Thieves, as the Anniversary Update will likely be available for download soon after the servers go down.
