Bulletstorm Duke of Switch Edition releases this summer

Published , by Josh Hawkins

Originally released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in 2011, the original version of Bulletstorm took the world by storm. In 2017, People Can Fly and Gearbox Publishing teamed up to bring Duke Nukem to the action. Now, though, Gearbox Publishing is ready to take things a step further with Bulletstorm Duke of Switch Edition.

Set to release on the Nintendo Switch this summer, Bulletstorm Duke of Switch Edition will include all of the various DLC and content released with Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition. This means Switch players will get to dive into the Duke Nukem version of the campaign, which completely revitalizes the game’s story with Duke as the main player character. The upcoming Switch version of the game was announced by Steve Gibson, the Head of Publishing at Gearbox Publishing, during Gearbox’s Pax East presentation.

Bulletstorm Duke of Switch Edition was revealed by Steve Gibson during Pax East 2019.

Unfortunately, there really isn’t much information aside from their planned release season. Gibson did mention that the gameplay was running smoothly, though, and that the developers had seen some great performance from the game so far. That’s good news, as the Switch doesn’t have nearly the same power as other consoles like the Xbox One or PlayStation 4, which saw the release of the Full Clip Edition back in April of 2017.

Alongside the Duke of Switch Edition, Gibson also revealed quite a few other surprises coming out of Gearbox Publishing, including a release date trailer for Pathologic 2, as well as Risk of Rain 2’s early access debut.
