Transistor interview: Supergiant Games' Morgan Wren discusses the move to Switch

During the Nintendo Switch-focused Summer Nindie Showcase, Nintendo showed off two games from Supergiant Games that would be coming to the Switch: Bastion and Transistor.

Transistor is an action RPG with turn-based combat featuring a sci-fi lilt and, most importantly, a talking sword. It's one of the studio's most-loved games, and now it's coming to the handheld console this November.

Shacknews' Greg Burke chatted with Supergiant producer Morgan Wren about the game and bringing it over to the Switch as well as its wide appeal.

"When we made our first game Bastion, it was an action RPG. We wanted a battle system that was more strategic and made you think. Games are more cerebral than action-packed, and things are just going in that direction."

"They helped us do a lot of the heavy lifting. There weren't huge hurdles or challenges to overcome, because they were great at what they did," Wren said of Confetti, the team helping Supergiant bringing the title to Switch in the first place.

There's no confirmed release date for Transistor or Bastion on Switch just yet, but it'll be available later this year.
