Apple-designed A12 bionic chip revealed, processes 5 trillion operations per second

During the iPhone phase of the Apple live special event, the company revealed the next generation chip: The A12. The Apple-designed A12 is the industry's first seven nanometer chip and it features a 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU, and 8 neural cores. It can process 5 trillion operations per second,. For comparison, the A11 processed 600 billion operations per second.

Tim Cook started off the Apple live event with the Apple Watch, revealing that it isn't just the #1 smart watch in the world, it's the #1 watch overall. The event moved forward by sharing how the wearable device is evolving, most significantly by becoming the first over-the-counter ECG device. The new iPhone XS was also revealed during the live showcase and it will be powered by the A12 bionic chip.
