From Software's delicate VR adventure Deracine debuts this November

Published , by Brittany Vincent

From Software has tried something very different than its usual fare with the upcoming PlayStation VR title Deracine. The game, which is set in a boarding school, is a much less austere endeavor than most of the company's game catalogue, though that doesn't mean it's going to be a bust. In fact, it looks like an extremely interesting adventure, even if it might be slower paced than the rest of From Software's upcoming titles like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

You won't have to wait much longer to give it a try, because it's coming to PlayStation VR as early as November 6. It will cost $29.99 and the digital version will be sold via the PlayStation Store, while a physical version will be available exclusively via GameStop. If you decide to preorder the game, either via digital or physical preorder, you'll get a special 6-avatar set and a Classroom theme.

The adventure game places players in the role of an "unseen faerie" in a boarding school where six children and their headmaster live. You'll be taking a look around a world where "time stands still," with a story that slowly reveals itself as you piece together clues discovered from around the school. It's very much a slower-paced endeavor that should appeal to fans of puzzle and adventure games, so if you're looking for Dark Souls here, you won't find it.

You will, however, find what looks like an interesting fairy tale-themed adventure that's a far cry from anything the company has produced before. But while you're clearing your plate for Deracine, make sure you also leave room for the rest of 2018's video game releases, which you can find via our official release calendar!
