During QuakeCon 2018, the dev team for Quake Champions revealed upcoming updated bots and soundtrack along with a few bonuses for the community, including bonus daily rewards. The biggest reveal today, though, was the announcement that Quake Champions is now free-to-play permanently. The announcement was followed up by a new gameplay trailer, which we'll embed as soon as we get access to it.
Quake Champions has been in development for quite a while and this new step is going to be an important one as the team attempts to grow the concurrent user base for the arena shooter. We'll have to keep an eye on the player counts in the upcoming months to see if the game will set a concrete place in the multiplayer shooter genre.
