How to Fix Destiny 2 Error Code Pony

Published , by Bill Lavoy

At Shacknews, we don’t mind error codes. In fact, we’ve written so many articles about error codes that we can tell when a game is down just by how many people are reading them. Destiny 2, a game that is not immune to errors, at least gives their error codes interesting names, the latest of which is Pony.

Destiny 2 - Error Code: Pony

The problem with Destiny 2 error codes is that they are rarely the fault of the user or their hardware. It’s almost always shenanigans on Bungie’s end that cause this, and Pony is no different. The error is described in a Bungie Help article as follows:

Please retry that activity again and resume what you were doing before the error occurred. If you encounter this error again, please exit Destiny then relaunch. If you continue to see this error, it’s likely due to testing we are doing on our end, please pardon our dust! Watch help.bungie.net and follow @BungieHelp for updates.

Lately, the Pony error appearing has coincided with the launch of the July update that brought the Solstice of Heroes event, so it’s safe to assume that the problem is on Bungie’s end if you’re reading this article around that time. Either way, take the advice from Bungie themselves and try restarting the activity, or closing the application completely and launching it again. If that doesn’t work, I wouldn’t go making big changes to your hardware setup. My advice would be to go play something else, or to browse through our video game release dates 2018 article to plan what you’ll play next.
