Deep Silver first announced it was working on Sacred 3 back in 2009, and it's finally (really!) coming out this summer. In fact, it'll be out on August 26th, the publisher has announced.

The last we heard, it was due to launch in 2013. But oh! News! Deep Silver has announced that it'll finally launch this summer, dropping new screenshots and a cinematic trailer along with this.

Sacred 3 has been on the fringes of our consciousness since Deep Silver took over the franchise in August 2009. We would get bits and pieces here and there, but finally today we get more details on the upcoming action RPG being developed by Keen Games.

2008 action RPG Sacred 2 is getting two follow-up games. Publisher Deep Silver has announced Sacred Citadel, a side-scrolling action brawler that serves as a "prologue" to Sacred 3.
