Hawken devs looking at mech melee weapons, clan decals

Stomping a round in a huge mech can be immensely gratifying. But to be honest, if could be even more exhilarating if that mech had a huge mace in one hand and a sword in the other. Right? Well, it appears the Hawken devs at Adhesive Games are thinking along the same lines.

Hawken launch delayed to early 2013; open beta hits December 12

Free-to-play multiplayer mech game Hawken has had its official launch delayed until early 2013, instead opting to go to open beta on the originally scheduled release date of December 12. In anticipation of the open beta, it will be closing its Vanguard Initiative pre-sales tomorrow.

Shacknews, GameFly offer 50,000 beta keys for Hawken

If you have been itching to climb into a mech and blow away other mechanical giants in a multiplayer frenzy, GameFly and Shacknews are giving away 50,000 keys to Hawken to let players test their skills in an upcoming closed beta beginning on November 8.

Hawken publisher raises additional $18 million

Hawken publisher and parent company Meteor Entertainment has secured another $18 million in its second round of funding, building a war chest that it says may go toward a free-to-play acquisition.
