It’s very revealing that almost all of the attention has been on the Democrats that didn’t save McCarthy, rather than the 8 Republicans that voted against him. It’s so indicative of the low standard Republicans are held to. “Of course Republicans are going to behave poorly! What’s really shameful is that Democrats didn’t act to prevent this!”

Democrats didn’t prompt the vote, they didn’t vote McCarthy into this position to begin with, and they had nothing to do with the deal McCarthy made with his own caucus that his speakership could be challenged by a single Rep at any time. And yet, it’s all their fault!

I’m really late to this but BEEF is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. The performances, the cinematography, the pacing, exquisite from beginning to end. Easily in my top ten, if not my top five alongside The Wire, The Leftovers, and The Sopranos. Not one wasted minute, scene, or character. Just so so good.

After a decade of fighting my weight (and losing) - through depression, injury, IF, low-carb diets, you name it - I have been on Ozempic for 8 weeks as of tomorrow. My glucose had been borderline pre-diabetic (105-110 fasting) for years, so the endocrinologist said we should go for it.

I started with 4 weekly 0.25mg shots, now on weekly 0.5mg shots. Ozempic is the first thing that has helped me lose weight other than total starvation. I have gone from 270 to 250 in these 8 weeks. I am no longer spending all of my waking hours thinking about food, feeling guilty about food, trying to plan my entire life around access to healthy food. It has lifted a burden of food obsession that I thought I would carry forever.

I am excited to weigh myself in the morning, after 10+ years of dread and shame. I don't give two shits whether people think it's cheating or that there's some lurking catch waiting to kill me.

This medication is changing my life. I have cried tears of joy. Ozempic has restored my optimism. All the naysayers can ligma.
