AxeMan808

At it's core, it's Asteroids Meets Robotron with Weapon/Ship/Armor/Shield/Ally mods and upgrades. Wave based with bosses at certain set levels (lvl 40, 80, 100 always same 3 bosses - so far). Good variety of the Archetype Choices (Ship / Gun / Shield); hopefully more to come.

While it gets frantic, I can sometimes find that Zen Flow where I'm more watching what I'm doing than actually doing it (I used to get this in Killing Floor especially as Commando starting in Zed Time - not so much in KF2, though I haven't played much Commando since early on).

Great arcade game. You can jump in and play without consequence. Quit without consequence.

Yet within that game you have NAIL BITING DECISIONS AND ACTIONS. Do it. Buy the game.

D'oh.

P.S.: I had to turn the screen shake and screen flash off; I started contracting epilepsy around wave 110.

(starts with 50sec blackscreen. D`oh)

Best score has been about 1.1 million

I love all the wacky build you can run in this game.

I am gonna start running some Wild Mod games too. Some of those builds can get so one track with Recursive mods.

okay, confirmed that game is cool as fuck. Is there a control option that lets it work more like a twin stick shooter? I only had a few minutes to toy around in-between work calls but I'll definitely play some more later!

No twin stick. Thrust + Rotation or Directional (which rotates towards where you point). I started as analog rotation, but a friend said Directional worked for them so I tried it. It's much better for evasion.
That's all. Any other reasoning is irrelevant. (I'm not as accurate with unguided Rails as with Analog Rotation)

got it, I'll have to get used to it. I tried the 3 styles and they all felt clunky compared to twin stick. Definitely some really cool upgrades I've seen already, can't wait to dig in more.

Developer did not want twin stick style control scheme to preserve the feeling of Astroids and old schoolness. I wish it was still included and then available as a control option as this game screams twin stick. Since it is in on Steam, once it becomes moddable, I bet you this is the first thing that gets made.

yeah, it makes sense, it's just a learning curve to get used to thrust + direction. I am definitely crashing into enemies a lot more than I would with a twin stick setup.

It took me a long time to get used to. I might play around with the control schemes at one point.
