A quick review of our very own Galadriel07's Etsy shop, GalaCrochets, including an "unboxing video" and several photos of finished works.

Bespoke Gifts are Best Gifts

If you're anything like me, you often have a hard time trying to decide what to get for your loved ones. Over the years, I've often found that the most meaningful gifts of all are handmade, bespoke gifts, which are one-of-a-kind instead of being mass produced and sold in super stores or on places like Amazon.

This year, when trying to decide what to buy for my new baby girl, I decided to go that route--but it turns out I'm not very good at crafting, so I turned to the hero of this story: Galadriel07. She runs a crochet goods Etsy shop, which was perfect--due to the hand-crafted nature of the gifts, even if she follows the same pattern twice, chances are the gifts will all be a little bit different, which makes them one-of-a-kind, and truly special. :)

Excellent Communication, Excellent Products

I reached out directly to Gala, because I had some things in mind. I wanted to get my baby girl something that she would like (as much as a 6-week-old can like anything), and that will last a while, but also something that was meaningful to my wife and I. Our nursery is aviation themed, and I asked about some custom crochets which were aviation themed.

Gala and I messaged back and forth a bit about a few options, and she let me know that she had several other orders she was working on. She also let me know that she couldn't guarantee a custom job like that could be done in time--or that it could be done at all--but that she would take a look and let me know. I really appreciated this open and honest communication, and setting expectations up front.

A week or two later, I heard back that she had found a pattern that should work, and also asked if I would be interested in an aviator's hat. This was SUPER exciting, because UP! is one of klev and my favorite movies, and the quote "Adventure is out there!" is a driving mantra in our lives.

Three very happy customers

The day arrived, and the package arrived. I decided to record my wife opening the package on behalf of our daughter, to send the video to Gala. Yes, I recorded it in vertical mode. I'm sorry. But not like.. super sorry. Blame it on my #babybrain

This is the part of the review where I just do a bit of a photo dump, and tell you what's in the photos.

Baby Renee is OBSESSED with the airplane and sun. Her swing had some pastel stars velcroed to it, which I replaced with these, and she LOVES the new, bright colors. We often find her reaching for them and staring at them as she swings.

She also really likes the sun. :)

She'll grow into the hat, I'm sure. :)

Dog tax. I know it looks like I have her in a choke hold, I promise, I'm just giving her under-chin scritches to keep her calm. :)

Are they filled with anything? Pellets or popcorn kernels?

i dont know if this is a joke, but its filled with polyfil (polyfil is a fire resistant toy stuffing). I have beads as well. When I do that i usually do a layer of beads and then the regular polyfil on top.

out of the blue my 13 year old son requested a crochet set to make little crochet dudes. My mom crochets, so she picked him up some starting stuff and is going to teach him. He needs the fine motor skill work so I hope that it sticks.

That is so great!! It is a lot of fun to make little toys and things. That is how I learned all my skills. He is lucky to have a Grandma to teach him too! :D
