Gym feelings

My mind every time I workout

SerfaSam

I follow a King of the Hill screens Twitter account because I love that show, it's the perfect TV show. It's as simple as that. Anyway, I saw this still as I was working out and immately thought it might make a good gym meme.

Do I have any other gym fiends or workout people up in here that can commiserate?

I’ve gotten a lot of use out of Bowflex 552’s. Also, the preworkout called Bulk.

I usually start with a 12 minute Nike + warmup, 20 minutes of core, then a 24 minute restorative yoga with down dog (app). For the actual workout, I like shred.

one of my 552s broke a few weeks ago, plastic on the bottom so it won't hold one of the weights.. still workable I just can't set to several configs.. they've definitely gotten heavy use this year.

I've had them for years so didn't think to reach out

        What's a Nike+ warmup?

I've never done yoga, but it always seems like it would be quite tough but also meditative?

How do you find the Bowflex? I've seen them back in the day but have always opted for weights

It’s called “open rotation” using the Nike app. I don’t think there’s a plus in there. :p It’s just some basic stretches and light movement to get me into a core workout.

I use the app down dog (paid, but cheap) and do the same restorative practice. I mostly do this because it makes recovery so much better, especially for cycling. This does so much for flexibility. Here’s an example pose:

I LOVE the 552’s. They’ve been so incredibly useful during this past year. They feel solid and it makes going from weight to weight simple.

I can’t express just how awesome Shred is tho. They let me do dumbbell only workouts and there’s a good amount of varied exercises.

The 552’s are dumbbells. They go from 5 lb to 52.5. 1/2 lb increments up to 25, then 5 lb increments.

True fact, in Australia you add weights to the bar by spinning them on counterclockwise

        I think you mean anticlockwise.

Any good iphone apps to create workouts and track them ?

I bought a first gen app to do this but it was never great and not updated since a few years ago

Shred is the complete opposite, but makes working out fun IMO. It’s for an amazing interface, but it’s also $ subscription.

I don't really create my own workouts or track them, and when I do I just write them down in notepad so I don't forget what I'm doing.

I mainly follow the Athlean-X AX-1 program. Thinking about getting AX-2 at some point to see what that's like. I've had great progress using it

Do P90 - at home and barely any equipment. You will get shredded, if you stick to it.
