Part 2 of 'I woke up insanely early to go take pictures, but it was worth it'

Part 2 of 'I woke up insanely early to go take pictures, but it was worth it'

Taking another look through pictures from Mt. Baker yesterday and I found a few more. Some are just mildly interesting (epic) scenery, others are 100% crops of wider shots.

Some different versions or crops of pictures from Mt. Baker pre-dawn and sunrise.

4:48 AM. I rejected this one because it's not quite in focus, but in this small version it's hard to tell. 3000x2000

5:04 AM. I saw this heart off to the side of a picture. 1000x1000

5:36 AM. Two meteors (Geminids) in this photo. 100% crop. 2000x3000

5:54 AM. 100% crop of the one I posted that has three meteors. 2000x3000

6:06 AM. Mt. Shuksan and Picture Lake. Hmm this one isn't that great. 3000x2000

6:41 AM. A single meteor over Mt. Herman. 100% crop. 3000x2000

6:59 AM. The Moon and Venus are rising above Mt. Shuksan. This is my maximum zoom range. 100% crop. 3000x2000

7:24 AM. It's starting to get light out. Sunrise at about 7:50. 2000x3000

7:36 AM. Detail crop of the glaciers on Mt. Shuksan. 2000x3000

8:06 AM. The sun is hitting some of the peaks. 3440x1440

8:12 AM. More sunrise. 3000x2000

8:56 AM. Still getting new light as the sun gets higher. 2000x3000

9:08 AM. Just a 100% crop of sun and snow on Picture Lake. 3000x2000

9:37 AM. More snowy trees and hills. 2000x3000

9:39 AM. Bagley Lakes and Table Mountain. 2000x3000

That's it! That's enough.

I was going to just post them in Chatty, but it turned into so many...

Here's the single best Geminid meteor I got (over Mt. Shuksan).

I assume the Mazda 3 is AWD. What kind of winter tires are you running?

        Uhhh.

Not AWD. Mazda doesn't make the new 3 with the stick shift and AWD. Yeah it's stupid. I chose stick shift.

Still on the stock all seasons, Bridgestone Turanza. I had chains if needed, but there was no problem at all. I posted some dashcam in part 1. I just drove kind of slow.

Nice! I've had some close calls in the mountains, so I'm pretty leery about ever going up without winters.

            Yes, this was a test.

Conditions were great, though. About 20F, mostly bare and dry. No patches of ice.

Parking lot had some snow driving parts, it was fine.

For being artistic, I think my favorite is 'Chair 1 - Experts Only'.

I think the star ones might be more popular with the general public because they can't just walk up and take that picture. 'Chair 1 - Experts Only' does kind of feel like a snapshot that anyone could take.

My cousin wants a print of 4:52 AM.
