I wanted to try to do star trails, which isn't as easy as it sounds.

I was on the road at 2:30 AM, and arrived at my destination around 4:30. I went back to Boulder Creek by Baker Lake. I'd been there on October 25th.

Conditions were sub-optimal. There was a full moon (almost), and while it was mostly clear there was some clouds and fog by Mt. Baker. The moon was bright, even when behind a hill, so there was a lot of light pollution. The moon was to my left behind the trees.

I hike out a little bit into the creek. First picture of the day, 4:42 AM. 3000x2000

From 5:06 AM to 5:39 AM I take exposures. I thought it would do more, so there are gaps, and the software won't fix it. It looks OK in small size, but full size looks bad. 1000x1500

After that I leave Boulder Creek and go to other campgrounds nearby. Panorama Point was a waste of time. I did eventually find sunrise happening on Mt. Baker. 7:38 AM. 3000x2000

That view was at a 'lake'. Woo boy, reflections. 2000x3000

One of the roads back in there, I saw this view. I'm not sure what mountain that is, maybe Shuksan. 3000x2000

Driving along, pretty much on the way home, and I see the sun shining through the trees. 2000x3000

On the way out, 9:23 AM, and I see this view. I cropped out a lot of the road, I could adjust it if needed. 3000x2000

That's it. Not a great day of pictures, but it was a nice clear day. I played it safe and didn't go up to Mt. Baker (ski area/Picture Lake). Turns out the road was only frosty, so I could have gone. Oh well.
