      It was interesting when people were trying to game the system at one point but I think the gamification attempt has lost its luster.

    The fun is the pets, not the points.
    50 points for voting in Pets versus 1 point for LOL'ing seems unbalanced, but who knows what the end game is?
    I think I saw the bonus for voting on all the challenges in a single day is 5,000 points? Wow, that's a lot for a single day...
    
    I actually thought it was a joke at first - it was probably a week after launch before I even watched the intro video.
    I think it's a fun diversion, and I assume TMWTB has a considerable investment in it - so I participate. ShackPets rewards content creation (massively) so if points are important, jump in!
    
    If you're only Shacking for points, I'll start trying to LOL all your posts!

  Tomorrow’s Carnage Report should feature some changes to the format of the article.
  
  We are doubling the amount of rows displayed. So you will be seeing 10 Shackers instead of five.
  
  Additionally, we will now declare a Shacknews Chatty winner in the article. That winner will be calculated by combining Chatty and LOL points.
  
  We are also working on several updates for Shackpets. These involve some material changes to how the challenge screen functions, and will take some time to implement.
  
  I agree with the sentiment that the vote screen being flooded with the same challenge images leads to a not so great experience.
  
  Thank you for using Shackpets if you have tried it out. We are in the early days of the platform’s existence and have a lot of things planned for the future.
