Time for Sony to Deliver
It's been quite some time since we 've had a full blown Playstation event that wasn't focused on one or two titles. The last Playstation showcase had some solid mic drop moments and suprise reveals like Final Fantasy 16 and Miles Morales. I expect this to be a big show especially after the company had to delay a few of the planned exclusive titles like Horizon Forbidden West and the God of War sequel leaving DeathLoop and Death Stranding Director's cut to hold down the fort.
So here's a few games I hope to see and why I think they could show up:
Marvel's Avengers Spider-Man Event teaser
The Avengers dev team revealed the game's roadmap for the rest of the year, confirming that Spidey is coming to the game this Fall. I think this will be a good opportunity to show off the exclusive character even if just for a quick moment. I'm curious if they will use the same voice actor from the original PS4 game or go for someone else. What do you all think?
Final Fantasy 16
Alot of us considered the Square Enix E3 presentation to be lacking with the emphasis being given to the new Marvel games and updates. With more development time passed, I think theres a chance we get a look at this game or Forespoken. That being said Square Enic has alluded to there not being anything else to show this year but things can change all the time especially if they want to make a statement.
Last of Us 2 Factions Update
Naughty Dog has been pretty quiet when it comes to the announced multiplayer for the game and with the game's 1 year anniversary passed, I think it's definitely time to hear about this mode. There's some rumors about another remaster of the original Last of Us as well but I don't know if this will happen outside of some op
Grand Tourismo 7
What better way to show off those PS5 graphics than a new racing game? I have never really followed the series but it has a die-hard fanbase and would give racing fanatics something to look forward to if they can't get their hands on Forza Horizon 5 on Xbox.
Street Fighter 5
We stil have quite a ways to go before we get our hands on Street Figher 6 but I do think there's a chance we get some complete edition announcement now that the final character Luke has been revealed. We might even get a new look at the character as well.
Forspoken
The most intriguing new IP that I hope shows up again at the show is Forspoken. We got a glimpse of the world in the original first trailer which showed epic creature battles and massive worlds.of magic and danger.
God of War Sequel
I think our first looks at the God of War sequel will be Sony's mic drop moment unless there's a new IP revealed. It's been a long time coming after the very quick tease from last year. We want to see Kratos aim for the head against Thor! Despite the game being developed for both PS4 and PS5 I do feel like this is going to be the console seller when they are available.
Longshots
Bloodborne Remaster
We have been begging and pleading for a Bloodborne remaster or upgrade for what seems like forever. Others have been pushing for a PC release. Both have become less and less likely over the years but die-hard fans like myself are still holding on to hope that Sony has something in the works for the classic From Soft game.
Spider-Man 2
Miles came out less than a year ago. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart released earlier in the year and the original Spider-Man game also took it's time with DLC content. I think it is too soon to see some thing from this game but I would love to be wrong.
Playstation All- Stars
With Nick Brawl preparing to release and Smash Bros wrapping up it's final roster. There's the off chance that Sony has been paying attention enough to bring back this franchise. The team behind Astro's Playroom just joined Playstation Studios and could probably find new ways to make the DualSense controller even more special and effective with imaginative gameplay.
Infamous Franchise
What is Sucker Punch up to lately? Well with the freedom and power of PS5, I wouldn't be suprised if they brought back a franchise that alot of folks love. New abilities, new levels mayhem and chaos and maybe even a new protagonist. The level of destruction could be really fun if done right.
Playstation needs to apply some pressure
