Injustice 2 DLC Adds DC B-Listers, Mortal Kombat Cameos

Sub-Zero, Starfire, and Red Hood are confirmed, but the trailer drops a subtle, barely visible hint at some more characters.

With Injustice 2 mere weeks away, NetherRealm has revealed its first set of downloadable characters. They include one familiar face from NetherRealm's other fighting series, Mortal Kombat, and two moderately well-known comic heroes: Sub-Zero, Starfire, and Red Hood.

The trailer shows off the fighters from Fighter Pack 1, which will be included with the Digital Deluxe edition. Sub-Zero is one of the most classic Mortal Kombat characters to exist, while Starfire is an alien princess, and Red Hood is the most angry and violent of Batman's pupils. He even uses a gun. These are the first three of nine planned DLC characters, and eagle-eyed trailer watchers might notice a none-too-subtle hint at the others.

Barely visible in the background near the end of the trailer are sillhouettes that appear to be Black Manta, the Aquaman villain, and Raiden, another Mortal Kombat cameo. That suggests more Mortal Kombat characters this time around, as the original Injustice only had Scorpion.
