A Twitch gamer running a 24-hour charity stream for the Make-A-Wish Foundation has died off-camera during the marathon.

Brian “PoShYbRiD” Vigneault, a 35-year-old World of Tanks player from Virginia Beach, Va., had stepped out around 3:30 a.m. CST for a smoke break, but did not return. Fans following the stream became concerned, thinking that maybe he had fallen asleep. When a friend saw him online in a Discord chat channel, he reached out, but apparently the person responding was a member of the Virginia Beach police department. The detective later confirmed that Vigneault had died. No official cause of death has been released.

According to his Twitch profile page, Vigneault was active in doing charity streams, giving 100% of the proceeds to various organizations. "So far this stream has raised over $10,917.20 for various veterans and children's charity organizations," he said on the page.

A moderator on his channel posted that "Our dear friend and fellow streamer, PoShYbRiD has passed away on Feb 19th. The family has chose to not release the details of his passing. We feel it is best to just remember him for who he was, and not think about what happened." A GoFundMe page has been set up to benefit Vigneault's wife and three children.

World of Tanks developer Wargaming.Net offered it condolences in a statement: “Wargaming is saddened to hear of the loss of streamer and tanker Brian Vigneault, aka ‘PoShYbRiD,’ a devoted player of World of Tanks and contributor to the Make-A-Wish foundation. We offer our most sincere condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.”

Cardiac arrest at 35, maybe? Surprised staying up for 24 hours strait while sitting doesn't kill more at internet cafes & streamers.

Sounds a little suspicious that a police officer was on his computer.

Not at all. Cops need to investigate because who knows why he died. It would be worse if he was murdered but the cops didn't give a shit about him and didn't bother to gather information and let potential evidence vanish.

But on the crappier side, cops assume everyone might something to hide or have access to criminal information and will gather information looking for dirt Just In Case.
