Fire Emblem for Nintendo Switch is due out in 2018

The game marks the first console installment for Fire Emblem since 2007.

Nintendo announced Fire Emblem for Nintendo Switch, clearly a working title. The game is expected to release sometime in 2018.

No further information was revealed during today's Fire Emblem-centric Nintendo Direct event. Earlier in the live stream, Nintendo announced Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia for Nintendo 3DS and 2DS systems.

Can't wait for you to buy a Switch because everyone here is talking about how awesome it is come March 3rd, and then turn around and sell it back to someone here for less than retail because you got bored with it after a month.

Nah, I never sell my "main" nintendo consoles. (Wii, WiiU) I still have my 3ds though! Played it last night!

I also don't like your tone, so when you want to buy it get ready to pay and extra $5.

Hah! I got two pre orders. One Amazon and one GameStop. You know I'm on top of that. If deadhorse doesn't take my Amazon one, you can pass your $5 inflation to him :P

I am not sure why this is lol. We are getting a new 3DS Fire Emblem this year, the Fire Emblem Warriors game on Switch this year, and a new real Fire Emblem game on Switch in 2018. It seems to me like things are spread out fairly nicely with this one franchise.

It just seems incredible that the wait for a real fire emblem game on the switch is two years away.

I cannot read the article, but does it list an actual time in 2018 when the game is scheduled? It is not like Fire Emblem has ever been a big fall release plus that is still a fairly crazy annual release pace for the series.

You seriously think it's going to be early 2018? It's won't be.

They tend to like to release Fire Emblem games in February March, I wouldn't be so surprised, obviously we'll have to wait till E3 (at the earliest) for more concrete info but I think it's 1.5 years out at most.

The Wii U did't even get a FE game. It's not a core non-mobile franchise. The news that we're getting one at all is good news. The 2+1 other FE games between now and then will hold me over.
