Finalists announced for the 2017 Independent Games Festival (IGF) Awards

More than 650 judges put their heads together to select 30 nominees.

Judges have announced finalists for the 2017 Independent Games Festival Awards, distinctions that honor innovative and influential projects made by indie developers.

"With more than 650 entries, judges have selected 30 outstanding nominees," wrote an IGF representative in an email statement to Shacknews.

The full list of IGF Awards categories and nominees can be found below.

This year marks the 19th annual Independent Games Festival, held during GDC on the expo floor from March 1-3. All nominees will be playable on the show floor, with the developers on hand to take and answer questions.

The IGF Awards ceremony will take place on March 1 and will be hosted by celebrated indie dev Nina Freeman.
