PSX 2016: Yakuza 6 and Yakuza Kiwami trailers

Yakuza Kiwami is the original Yakuza game with PlayStation 4 graphics.  However, It doesn’t have that same old remake feel to it.

Yakuza Kiwami is a “from the ground up” remake of the original Yakuza game for the PlayStation 2. In Kiwami there are new cut scenes as well as the aforementioned PS4 graphics. In addition, there is a fastpaced combat system that will take some time to master. It will be interesting to see what else has been added to Yakuza Kiwami so it doesn’t feel like a remake.

It was also revealed during PSX that Yakuza 6 would be getting an American release in early 2018 so fans will have to patient for that.

I can't believe we went from this series being straight up dead in the West to vibrant and alive with four full releases in just over 2 years. So glad to see it getting support, even if it's largely because of Sony subsidising the releases to bolster its roster of exclusives.

Absolute favorite RPG franchise and one of the most underrated series out there. I still run into people that think it's a Japanese GTA clone and won't give it the time of day, oblivious to its real nature. :(

Its real nature, its heart of hearts, is Shenmue, right?... I only played a bit of 4 and that was the vibe I got.
