Sony's throwing a launch party for PS4 Pro in New York City

Feel free to join in by heading to NYC's Sony Square store on November 9.

PlayStation 4 Pro goes on sale next Thursday, November 10, and Sony's throwing a launch party the night before in New York City. What's more, you're invited.

Beginning on the evening of Wednesday the 9th, you can line up outside the Sony Square retail store located at 25 Madison Avenue for a chance to purchase one of the first PS4 Pros available and partake in party events.

"As we countdown to midnight, we’ll ring in the launch with food and beverages, games, giveaways, sweepstakes, and prizes," wrote Sid Shuman, Sony's director of social media, in a PlayStation Blog article. "Fans can begin lining up at 7:00 PM Eastern Time on November 9. If you’re one of the first 200 people in line, you can walk away with your shiny new console starting at midnight."

One of those prizes is an all-expenses-paid trip to PlayStation Experience 2016, to be held in Anaheim, CA, over December 3-4. Sony will also give away PlayStation VRs and a few 20th-anniversary PS4 consoles.

Sony noted in the blog that all transactions at the launch party must be conducted via credit card to expedite things along.

PlayStation 4 Pro retails for $399.
