Catch a glimpse of Wasteland 3 in its first gameplay trailer while also considering pledging your support to InXile to help further develop the game.

The first gameplay trailer for InXile Entertainment’s Wasteland 3 has been released, and it appears the studio’s promise of offering a brand-new atmospheric experience is holding true this early in its development cycle now that its first gameplay trailer has been released.

Wasteland 3’s gameplay trailer, titled “A Frosty Reception”, shows some of the savage frozen lands of Colorado as our party can be seen discovering a base that’s deemed to be the turf of Hard Heads. The video then shows off some of the multiple dialog options we can expect in Wasteland 3, which has been completely revamped for the game.

The majority of the over two-minute video shows off Wasteland 3’s dialog system, but as you’d expect, things go wrong and a fight breaks out. The combat mechanics also appear to have received some much-needed love from Wasteland 2 as we can see Fish-Lips jumping in the air to disable one of your party members.

Wasteland 3 is currently seeking funding to help its development, which InXile Entertainment plans to launch in 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. If you like what you see and want to support the studio, head on over to their Fig page. As of this writing, there are over 2,500 backers and over $1.3 million has been pledged so far with 29 days to go. We think it's safe to say InXile will get the money they're looking for in no time.

Looks awesome with the conversation animations. All the early bird backing slots are gone and the "less than retail" price for the non early bird tiers is $33 when the game will probably launch at $40. Not worth signing up for Fig to save $7. I'll definitely grab it at launch unless something crazy happens and it sucks.

Looks like the game is retailing for $50. They're giving previous backers a "$5 off deal", so managed to grab one of the early bird slots for $20 total. Quite a step down from the amount I donated to help make W2 happen, but that was when crowdfunding was new and I was really excited for a Wasteland sequel. Still, backing it to show my support and definitely want to see them make their goal.

Yeah, I forgot about the $5 deal. Maybe I will sign up for fig. That still makes it quite a bit less expensive if It's going to retail for $50

At least they're promising a realistic three-year development cycle instead of the early Kickstarter "we'll deliver in a year!" optimism

Yeah, 3 years seems reasonable. Just looking at the date 2019 feels like it's still a long way away

Backed... with my $5 Wasteland 2 credit. That game was amazing. This is now one of my favorite studios. Love what they are doing.
