Acquire has announced it will be working on an anime adaptation of Akiba’s Trip which is set to broadcast during the 2017 Winter anime season in January 2017.

Akiba’s Trip: The Animation is currently in production at anime studio Gonzo, which is known for its work with such notable anime series as Full Metal Panic, Hellsing, Gantz, and Agro Samurai.

The television series will be directed by Hiroshi Ikehata (Robot Girls Z, Seiyu's Life!), composed by Kazuho Hyodou (Wanna Be the Strongest in the World, ReLIFE), and  Hajime Mitsuda (key animation for Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, The Devil is a Part-Timer!) will be working on character designs.

Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed was originally released in 2013 in Japan, but made its way to the West in 2014 on PlayStation 4 and Vita. The game eventually became available on PC in Spring 2015 and another game in the series, called Akiba’s Beat, is set to release this year on PS4 and Vita.

The original Akiba’s Trip was released on PlayStation Portable in May 2011, although it never made its way outside of Japan. Based on its website, it appears the anime adaptation will be based on its follow up game, Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed.
