Gears of War 4's DLC isn't out yet. Heck, Gears of War 4 isn't due until October11, but that's not stopping developer The Coalition from announcing extra DLC for anyone who buys the game's season pass.

"We're upping the value of the Season Pass replacing the 6 Gear Packs with a 17 pack Starter Air Drop," Coalition studio head Rod Fergusson announced via Twitter.

Gears' 17-pack Starter Air Drop will contain five Horde Boosters, five Operations packs, five Versus Boosters, and two Elite packs. That works out to 85 cards, amounting to what Fergusson refers to as a sampler platter of card content.

Plunking down $50 for Gears of War 4's season pass gets you more than 85 cards. You'll get vintage weapons, skins for characters and weapons, maps, and the Developer Playlist, which grants you access to modes, maps, and variants before they go out to the public.

Gears of War 4 is a Play Anywhere game, which means you'll be able to get it for Xbox One and/or Windows 10 PCs when it ships on October 11. The Coalition went out of its way to distinguish the PC version from its Xbox One counterparts, adding all sorts of visual bells and whistles that owners of high-end hardware are sure to appreciate.
