Microsoft has announced its lineup of free games that will be available to all Xbox Live Gold members via its Games with Gold promotion.

For the entire month of September on Xbox One, Earthlock: Festival of Magic will be free to download, while between September 16 to October 15th, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China will be available.

As for Xbox 360 owners, they can download Forza Horizon starting on September 1st through September 15th. Then, starting on September 16, Mirror’s Edge will be available for free until September 30th.

This month's lineup has two heavy hitters as both Forza Horizon and Mirror's Edge are definitely worth your time to download. As for the Xbox One lineup, Earthlock looks to be an interesting classic RPG, while we were very big fans of Assassin's Creed Chronicles China when it released last year.

I like the setting of the original Forza Horizon more than Horizon 2's. Arguably more twisty and open road feeling in addition to the better parts of the American west.

Come to think of it, Horizon 1 had more long races across much of the map. Horizon 2 focused on hubs and regions with only one big round the world race at the end.

Horizon 3 lets you customize every event, down to changing the route. Sounds great to me. There was only 2 real long races in the first game in the multiplayer. The second seemed to save the long drives when sending you to a new region. Races were all pretty short, even the off-road cross country events.
