In its return to its survival horror roots, Capcom has released an eerie new gameplay trailer for Resident Evil 7 biohazard.

To set the scene, the trailer takes place at an old plantation in Dulvey, Louisiana. Jack and Marguerite Baker have gone missing. The main character is dictating a note to someone she hopes will find her Blair Witch-style video. We don't know anything about her, but get a good sense of the moody setting, as well as a slight start at the end when a woman (Marguerite?) finds her and grabs her.

The game is launching on PS4, Xbox One and PC on January 24, 2017. It will also be compatible with PlayStation VR.
