Gears of War 4 PC system requirements revealed along with 4K gameplay trailer

Gamescom is in full swing, and one of the first things Microsoft showed off was the PC version of Gears of War 4 running at 4K.

The short gameplay demo of the PC version of Gears of War 4 takes place during the “Rescue” chapter, which follows JD, Kait, and Del as they chase a large unknown enemy through an old COG fort. As they give chase, two new Swarm enemies suddenly appear: Drones and Pouncers. As you’d expect, the Swarm enemies need to be defeated in order to progress, which is the main aspect of this gameplay trailer.

In addition to showing off the PC version of Gears of War 4, Microsoft and The Coalition have revealed the minimum, recommended, and ideal specs for the game.

Here’s what you’ll need in order to run Gears of War 4 on its minimum settings:

  • OS: Windows 10 Anniversary Update
  • CPU: AMD FX-6300 / i5 3470 @ 3.0GHz
  • GPU: Radeon R7 260X / GeForce 750 Ti
  • VRAM: 2GB
  • RAM: 8GB
  • HDD: 80GB free

Here’s what you’ll need to enjoy the game at its recommended settings:

  • OS: Windows 10 Anniversary Update
  • CPU: AMD FX-8350 / i5 4690 @ 3.5GHz
  • GPU: Radeon R9 290X or Radeon Rx 480 / GeForce 970 or GeForce GTX 1060
  • VRAM: 4GB
  • RAM: 8GB
  • HDD: 80GB free

And here’s what you’ll need to play at its ideal settings:

  • OS: Windows 10 Anniversary Update
  • CPU: AMD FX-9590 / i7 4790 @ 4GHz
  • GPU: Radeon R9 Fury X / GeForce 980 Ti or GeForce GTX 1080
  • VRAM: 4GB
  • RAM: 16GB
  • HDD: SSD + 80GB free

          I'm not sure how the windows store does things, could just be required disk space for both the download+install. If that's the case it would still probably be +50GB installed

        I'm guessing these specs are for 4K play. There's no way either a 980 TI or 1080 would be needed for 1080p play. Especially when you factor in the rest of the specs.
