Call of Duty Infinite Warfare SDCC panel launches into narrative details

It's more than just shooting. There really is a story.

Call of Duty games have traditionally been all about the gameplay, and while that is incredibly important, story has usually been somewhat lacking. Developer Infinity Ward is trying to change that with a more engrossing narrative for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

In a panel at the San Diego Comic Con, the dev team and the voice actors gave some insight into the conflict that is the basis for the game that will take players into space. They also detailed the characters that players will get to know, from Capt. Nick Reyes (voiced by Brian Bloom), to Lt. Nora Salter (Jamie Hyder - who we spoke with at E3), Staff Sgt. Omar (David Harewood) and even an articial lifeform named Ethan (Jeffrey Nordling). Although he was not at the panel, Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington has been revealed as the game's antagonist, Admiral Salen Kotch of the Settlement Defense Front, a psychotic madman who is not afraid of death.

Check out the full panel discussion below for a ful run down of what is going into creating the back story for the FPS. The game is scheduled to be released on November 4.
