How To Request a Pokestop and Gym in Pokemon Go

You want to play Pokemon Go, but there aren't any Pokestops or Gyms near you. Here's how you can fix that right away!

Pokemon Go trainers living in rural areas are having a tough time finding Pokestops and Gyms in their area, which can certainly put a damper on the experience considering they’re needed to acquire additional Poke Balls and battle other players. You could move to a more saturated part of the world to wake up to Pokestops and Gyms inches away from where you sleep, but that would take too much time and resources. So what other choices do you have? Stop playing Pokemon Go?

Yea. Right.

If you’re one of those unlucky folks who are attempting to play Pokemon Go without any Pokestops or Gyms near you, you’re in luck because we know a way for you to have them pop up without resorting to moving to another part of town.

If You Build It, They Will Come

Pokemon Go trainers who are in desperate need of a Pokestop or Gym near them need to head on over to the official Pokemon Go support page. It should look something like this:

Once you’re at the request page, all you need to do is put in your email address, write out your request, and then select “No PokeStops or Gyms Near Me” in the “Reason” drop down menu. You should probably also give your location to Niantic if you want it to add a Pokestop or Gym near you.

The support page also has an area for the exact name of the Pokestop. While this is probably used in order to pinpoint an issue with an already-established Pokestop, we recommend having a little fun with your submission and give Niantic some ideas on what they can call your suggested Pokestop.

We also recommend giving them an address for the proposed Pokestop or Gym, although we recommend tying it to a business or some public place as we’re sure you wouldn’t want random strangers hanging out in front of your home.

And that’s all there is to it! Once you click Submit on the form, Niantic will receive your request and will hopefully add a Pokestop or Gym near you. Just remember that nearly everyone ever is playing Pokemon Go, so we’re sure it’ll take some time for the studio to start adding new Pokestops or Gyms, so be patient. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither will your new Pokestop.
