Red Dead Redemption coming to Xbox One via backward compatibility later this week

It's not RDR2, but we'll take it.

Fans of Red Dead Redemption have been hoping - well, more like praying - that a sequel would be coming to Rockstar's popular Western. Well, we aren't getting a sequel (yet), but we may have the next best thing.

Rockstar has announced that Red Dead Redemption will be added to Xbox One's backward compatability list oin July 8. Yep, that's this Friday. If you own the game for the Xbox 360, you will be able to play it on the Xbox One, no matter which version of the game you own, including Undead Nightmare and the GotY Edition.

And if you don;t have the game and want to see what all the fuss is about, Rockstar said that at the same time, you will be able to buy RDR at the same time.

Thanks, Rockstar. Now give us Red Dead 2.

It'll be on my monitor, that's close enough for me for now :) If I can find the stupid game. I tried finding it once when I heard the game was on Xbox One.

I have some Xbox 360 titles that are on the backwards compatibility list for thr XB1. All I have to do is insert the X360 disc into the XB1 and the game will automatically start to download?
