E3 2016: NieR: Automata releasing on PS4 in early 2017

The upcoming follow-up to the 2010 cult classic NIER will soon be available on PS4. While you wait, why don't you check out its E3 2016 trailer?

Square Enix has announced NieR: Automata will be arriving on the PlayStation 4 in early 2017.

In addition to today’s announcement of its release date window, Square Enix and Platinum Games have released the title’s official E3 trailer. The trailer shows various portions of the game, which includes in-game cinematics, its fast-paced combat, and a boss battle.

NieR: Automata has players assuming the role of 2B, who is an all-purpose battle android that’s been deployed as a member of the automated infantry squad, YoRHa. The title will tell the story of androids 2B, 9S and A2 as they battle to reclaim their world that’s been overrun by machine lifeforms.

2B is capable of delivering devastating blows through the use of her sword and her close quarters combat skills and can use her Pod for ranged battle.

NieR: Automata is scheduled to release on PlayStation 4 in early 2017.

Super excited for this. Trying to avoid too much exposure to it before I play it...the original was one of the best surprises of the last generation in part because I had no idea what to expect next.

Absolutely. One of my most surprising and most memorable games of the generation.
