E3 2016: Mount and Blade footage shows off sieges, destructive world

Destroy castles stone by stone in Mount and Blade

3

At this morning's PC Gaming Show, TaleWorlds' community manager Frank Elliott took the stage to detail the scope and intricacies of sieges in action-RPG/sandbox/simulation Mount and Blade.

Ballistas and other heavy weaponry let you blast battlements and other pieces of castles to smithereens. Before getting down to lobbing projectiles, you'll need to decide how to approach sieges by looking over strategies and castle layout. Attackers and defenders will be able to act independently of one another, with the player able to take command with a few clicks. After bombarding castles, you storm the castle and go toe to toe against other soldiers.

All of Mount and Blade's siege mechanics have been derived from extensive research.

Aside from sieges, you'll get to partake in politics, trade, and other intricate mechanics involved in medieval military combat.
