Microsoft is prepared to announce its Xbox One Slim, which leaked in a big way yesterday afternoon. But prior to its official unveiling, one of Microsoft’s major trump cards may have just been revealed: the Xbox One Slim’s pricing.
According to NerdLeaks, Microsoft will announce the Xbox One S will start at $299. This is a bit surprising considering the company just knocked down the price of its original Xbox One to $299 just a few weeks prior to the start of E3.
While we’re aware Microsoft is offering “less” Xbox One in its Slim model, the tech industry tends to increase the price in new products, especially if they’re leaner than previous models. Pricing the Xbox One S at $299 is an ideal situation for consumers as they’ll be able to choose between it and the original Xbox One, although we would believe Microsoft, or at least retailers, will knock down its price even more to help move its inventory.
