Electronic Arts announced it would be revealing the cover athlete for Madden NFL 17 this evening, but it appears the football player is out of the bag as we now know the cover athlete for the game is Rob Gronkowski of the Patriots.

The reveal comes by way of a leak from Microsoft’s Xbox Store listing for Madden NFL 17. The listing shows Gronkowski in the middle of spiking a football, as well some screenshots and its official description.

Madden NFL 17 will have three different editions: Standard, Deluxe, and Super Deluxe. The Standard Edition will just include the game with a 1-month EA Access Trial and bonus content including nine Madden NFL Ranked Tickets and up to seven Madden NFL Ultimate Team Pro Packs, so long as you pre-order.

The Deluxe Edition also includes a 1-month EA Access Trial along with 30 Madden NFL Ranked Tickets and up to 10 Madden NFL Ultimate Team All Pro Packs, while the Super Deluxe Edition includes the same 1-month EA Access Trial and 30 Madden NFL Ranked Tickets and Ultimate Team All Pro Packs.

Lastly, the description for Madden NFL 17 shows players should expect a renewed focus on Franchise Mode, which puts you in the center of your team's Championship run. The title also promises to include the most balanced gameplay to date, which includes all-new ball carrier feedback cues, defender fake-out mechanics, and an innovative, authentic defensive AI system.

Madden NFL 17 will release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on August 23, 2016.
