Minecraft: Wii U Edition will be receiving an update on May 17th that will allow players to build their own version of the Mushroom Kingdom as Nintendo and Mojang are announcing the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack.

The Super Mario Mash-Up Pack will launch as a free game update, and will give players instant access to 40 new skins, a Super Mario-themed pre-made world, and 15 pieces of music and item textures from the Super Mario world. All of the content coming to Minecraft: Wii U Edition have been inspired by the Super Mario series, including Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, and Super Mario Sunshine.

“Both the Super Mario franchise and Minecraft embrace the magic of exploration and discovery,” said Steve Singer, Nintendo of America’s vice president of publisher & developer relations. “Players will have a great time adventuring and creating in this free game update that embraces the unique and memorable elements of both franchises.”

Minecraft: Wii U Edition will launch with the free Super Mario Mash-Up Pack at retail on June 17, one month after it’s released digitally.
