Want to play Battlefield 1 before it releases this October? Electronic Arts has confirmed that it will push out a beta ahead of the game's launch. No big surprise there. However, entry into the beta may be limited, but registering as a Battlefield Insider unlocks early access.

Per GameSpot, just head over to the Battlefield Insider site and register a free account. As a member, you'll receive "in-game rewards, exclusive content, and sneak peeks at news about Battlefield," according to EA. While the website makes no mention of beta access, the press release includes the tantalizing line "early access to the Battlefield 1 public beta."

EA unleashed a torrent of Battlefield 1 info from a special press briefing held earlier today, including confirmation that the game will take place during WWI, feature a squad-based system, and let players take control of four distinct classes. You'll also be able to bash people in the face with melee weapons and rumble around in vehicles.
