It’s been nearly two years since The Amazing Spider-Man 2 web shot its way onto the gaming scene, but today, we’re learning Sony is currently working on a new Spider-Man game for the PlayStation 4.
The leak comes from the resume of well-known actor and stuntman, Stephen Oyoung, who lists he’s performed motion capture for “Untitled Spiderman PS4 Project” for Sony.
Activision has been the publisher for the majority of Spider-Man games for the past several years with Beenox developing the past few games, so to hear Sony is behind the development of this new Spider-Man title is surprising. We’d even be more surprised if Sony was somehow able to secure the Spider-Man brand as an exclusive to PlayStation platforms, which wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility considering Sony Pictures currently owns the rights to the Spider-Man franchise.
We’ve reached out to Sony for comment and will proceed to update this story as soon we receive a response.
