Supergiant Games, the studio best known for Bastion and Transistor, have announced a new game, Pyre.

Pyre is the studio’s new party-based RPG that has players leading a band of exiles through an ancient competition. The story of Pyre has the player’s luck almost running out, when they’re discovered by several masked wanderers and you’re revived from the brink of death. They then look to you for help in learning the truth about the Rites, which is a secretive competition that rewards exiles the chance to return home.

Players will meet a variety of characters of all shapes and sizes and you’ll learn what’s in store for each of them if they succeed in the Rites. Decisions the player makes will determine who returns to glory, and who remains in exile.

Pyre will be available in 2017 and will launch simultaneously on Steam and PlayStation 4. Supergiant Games will be showing Pyre off at PAX East, so attendees are encouraged to check it out if they’re attending the show.
