Don't Worry, The Chinese Room's 'Total Dark' Will Still Be Weird

Did you have any doubt?

Developer The Chinese Room, whom you might remember from Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, is hard at work on a new isometric RPG called Total Dark. The company has always been known for the "stranger" titles out there, and according to sutdio director Dan Pinchbeck, it appears that's definitely not going to change with Total Dark.

The new project was originally created as a tabletop "RPG boardgame," and won't be nearly as "bleak" as previous titles but will be "no less weird" at the same time. That's all thanks to an interview with Rock, Paper, Shotgun, and it's not surprising considering games like Dear Esther and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. Unfortunately, Pinchbeck didn't divulge further details regarding the title or what indeed would make it so strange.

But we'll hopefully be seeing more about the game as The Chinese Room plans on putting out some sort of playable prototype completed by the end of April.
